“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ concerning you.” -I Thesselonians 5:18
It’s almost another year, and therefore, there is another reason to give thanks.
Give thanks for the failures.
Give thanks for the disappointments.
Give thanks for the delayed starts.
Give thanks for the seemingly broken dreams.
Give thanks for every stumbling block that’s left you deflated, defeated and depressed.
Yes, be thankful for it all. Read the rest of this entry
“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” | “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
-Jeremiah 1:5 KJV | -Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
Life doesn’t always work out as we think it should. The plans we’ve laid for ourselves are, many times, suppressed under the weight of circumstance.
We pray, and we cry, and we wait; and after all is said and done, we believe that God is going to make a way; but, sometimes the more we believe, the harder life seems to get.
How can a God who promised that He would never leave the righteous forsaken, nor His seed begging for bread (Psalm 37:35), allow us to fall into such desolate conditions?
How can a God inherently known as a provider (Gen. 22:14) blind our eyes to every open door and every possible opportunity?

“. . . prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
-Malachi 3:10 KJV
There is an open season of blessings that God is preparing for us to walk into. The Bible describes this open season as an outpouring of rain.
Leviticus 26:4 states that: “I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees of the field their fruit.”
In order for the rain to bear the fruit of the field, seeds first have to be sewn. If rain were to fall on barren ground then the refreshing power of the rain would simply sink into an empty canvas.
For this reason, our life has to have a degree of substance so that when our outpouring arrives we are able to bear the fruit of our labor; we are able to walk into our season.
Spiritual substance is not attained through accolades, education or accomplishment, but rather through struggle; through trials; through tribulation; through failure; through heartache and through pain. Read the rest of this entry
